  Pearson Conducts a Workshop on an Introduction to Formal Languages, Automata Theory, and Computation

Pearson Education, the global leader in educational publishing, conducted a work shop today on Introduction to Formal Languages, Automata and Computation at LT-11, Lecture Hall Complex, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Sitapur Road. Present at the occasion were Kamala Krithivasan, Professor, Indian Institute of Technology Madras; 63 lecturers from different institutes affiliated to UPTU, faculties from Amity University; and Dr. D.S. Yadav, Professor, CSE department.

Covering a core subject in the curriculum of all universities, the textbook is meant for B.Tech students with CSE and IT majors, as well as for students taking the subject as part of their M.Sc Maths, MSc CS. M.Tech CSE, MCA courses. Among the new features of this student-friendly book are a different approach for getting regular expression from FSA, the step-by-step working of Turing machines, fresh application-oriented topics, and issues of current interest. Step-by-step descriptions of the behaviour of automata, supplemented by a number of examples and exercise problems, offer a clear and comprehensive understanding of the subject.

The author, Professor Kamala Krithivasan, of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Madras, has been working in this area for more than 30 years.
